Sweeter Than Honey

Psalms 119:103-105 (NIV)
How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path.
Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.

In just about every corner of this world people have fashioned idols made from plaster, stone, wood or metals to picture the gods they worship. All of their created gods have mouths but they truly do not speak intelligible words that can be readily understood. To fashion false gods from your own imagination brought the anger and wrath of God. Listen to what God said to Judah through the prophet Jeremiah.

Do not follow other gods to serve and worship them; do not arouse my anger with what your hands have made. Then I will not harm you.” Jeremiah 25:6 NIV

The amazing thing is how those man made idols had no voice. Their worshipers attributed to the gods voices but false god after false god were made silent with the passing of time. Not so, with the true and living God.

John 1:1-5,14 NIV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He was with God in the beginning. [3] Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. [4] In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. [5] The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

[14] The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Hebrews 1:1-2 NIV
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, [2] but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
